Inrecentyears,theUK-Chinarelationshiphasgonefromstrengthtostrengthandhasbecomeincreasinglyimportantforbothcountries.TheUK-Chinatradeandinvestmentrelationshipisoneofthestrongestintheworldandcontinuestogrow.In2020,theUKwasChina’ssecondlargestEuropeantradingpartner,withbilateraltradeamountingto$96billion.TheUKalsocontinuestobethehighestrecipientofChineseinvestmentinEurope,withover700Chinesecompaniesemployingaround60,000peopleacrossthecountry.
PromotingEducationalandCulturalExchanges:
TheUKandChinahavealong-standinghistoryofpromotingculturalandeducationalexchanges.Everyyear,thousandsofChinesestudentscometotheUKtostudy,whilemanyBritishstudentscometoChinatolearnaboutitsrichcultureandtraditions.Bothcountriesarecommittedtostrengtheningtheseexchangesasitpromotesagreaterunderstandingofeachother’sculturesandvalues.TheBritishEmbassyinChinaoffersvariousscholarshipprogrammestoChinesestudentswhowishtostudyintheUKorattendUKsummerschoolsorsummercamps.
TacklingGlobalIssuesTogether:
